DANA AIR BAGS SECOND IT AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE

Dana Air, Nigeria’s newest carrier, has been named the Best IT-Driven Airline of the year 2009 at the National Information Technology Merit Award (NITMA) 2009, organized by the Nigeria Computer Society. This brings to two the number of IT awards conferred on the airline in just 13 months of its operations.


NITMA is an annual ICT award organised by the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) to acknowledge, celebrate and reward outstanding corporate organisations and individuals in Nigeria who have played major roles in the development and growth of Information Technology, and Dana Air emerged winner of the IT-Driven Airline of the Year Award through a public survey conducted on the NCS website.


Chief Executive Officer of Dana Air, Jacky Hathiramani, expressed delight over the recent award by the Nigeria Computer Society. He re-iterated the airline's commitment to the provision of world-class air transport services to Nigerians and assured that the airline would continue to explore new and exciting ways of making its passengers’ flying experience more pleasurable, deploying the latest technologies.


Dana Air had its inaugural flight on November 10, 2008.  In just 12 months of its operations, Dana Air has become one of Nigeria’s leading airlines, with a staggering 17.1% market share on the five (5) domestic routes it currently flies to.
